From hobby to career, it's been an amazing run. And the tailout is a long ways away.

I was introduced to fly fishing at a very young age and have made a career out of it, from commercial fly tying, writing, instruction and fly design, to spending the last twenty years guiding some of the most coveted steelhead waters.

I’m here because…

I wanted to create a space where I could share thoughts and updates, provide insight, keep in touch, and encourage discussion.
One of the most rewarding parts of guiding is being able to teach and forge better anglers. I love it when somebody gets that “Ah-ha!” moment and the light bulb goes on. I hope I can turn the light switch on a few more times with this Substack.
